Very friendly welcome and helpful reception. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and the hostess remembered me and my daughter. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It snowed heavily during the night and in the morning the hostess helped me to clean and de-ice the car windows with warm water which was extremely helpful.

Friendly but subpar and overpriced - Rating 2/5

1) Accommodating of late checkin2) Room keys required to be left behind front desk when out of house, guests asked to go behind desk to leave/retrieve their own keys if nobody at reception - no way of preventing others from entering your room while you're out3) Hard, uncomfortable beds4) Effectively non-functional wifi5) Clean room6) Walls paper thin, heard every word of late-night phone argument from next door7) Windows let in every sound from the street despite being closed8) Shower water pressure varied between good and nonexistent over ten minutes9) Told at checkin that we could decide whether to have breakfast in the morning;went downstairs at the start of breakfast time to find no one around and kitchen locked up tight10) Grossly overpriced at £100 for one night

Sorry to hear you were unhappy with your booking.Unfortunately, you booked a double room which could only accommodate 2 people and you were offered a larger room because when you arrived there were 3 of you instead of 2.Our rooms clearly state the number of beds in accordance with room-size and space - apart from this we don\\\\\\\'t have \\\\\\\"extra beds\\\\\\\" to set up as you requested and this was explained. We try our best to please our guests and are sorry that on this occasion you left upset and disappointed.

Does not offer the essential service of keeping your luggage on the last day - Rating 2/5

The staff is nice and helpful, but the fact that they don't work full-time is a problem when offering basic services such as keeping luggage on the check-out day. This almost ruined our last day of travel and we hand to go to another hotel to ask for this service. The breakfast and check-out times are too early it is easy to hear other guests waking up.On the other hand, the facilities are comfortable and the hotel is very clean. It has lovely cotton bedding and good tea in the rooms.

Thank you for your review. As we are confused regarding your negative comments we would like to set the record straight. Regarding leaving luggage, We have never refused any guest who wanted to either arrive early and drop off their luggage or when they check out and want to return later to collect - guests are always welcome to do either.Regarding us not working \\\"full time\\\" we (the owners) are available from 7.30am 7 days a week and we also have live-in staff who are available any time day or night. However, we are just a Bed & Breakfast and not a big hotel with someone actually standing behind Reception all day and our Breakfasts and Check out times are in line with other UK Bed & Breakfasts.

Not worth the price.- Rating 2/5

When I first arrived, there wasn't anyone in the reception to greet me. I called the owner and he guided me to my room over the phone, which I thought was fine and friendly. However, the room itself I wasn't very happy with. The boiler in the bathroom was sectioned off using a 6ft 'wall' but was still visible. The floors were incredibly squeaky. As I was trying to sleep, the floor was extremely loud every time someone walked past the door, which put me on edge. And the boiler was clanking away for most of the night. Also, the rooms aren't very sound proof.. I could hear almost everyone else's TV around me. When I left, there was no one at the reception again. I do not think the room was worth £80 a night at all!! I would have paid £30 and no more, especially as there wasn't any toothpaste, or shampoo, or shower gel (which wasn't explained prior, or on booking). Very disappointed.

Shampoo and shower gels are available in every bathroom (attached to wall dispensers)???

We stayed at the Bridge guest house for just one night while visiting The Cambridge Junction. It's literally just about 200 metres from the venue. We also walked into the city centre which took us about 10-15 minutes. The guest house is very well located and was easy to get to from the M11. The receptionist was very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was warm, very clean and functional. One point of note was that the floors creaked a lot but I'm not sure what could be done about that. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. We'd certainly recommend The Bridge Guest House and would happily use it again.

Pleasant - no surprises - Rating 5/5

We booked this for an overnight stay while we attended a wedding. The check-in time looked like it might be a problem so I contacted them and the response was encouragingly helpful. We turned up at 12:30 and the room was already available so we checked in then sat in the quiet courtyard at the back to eat our packed lunch. The room was fairly basic but it had a tv and tea and coffee. Large ensuite shower room. The shower cubicle was a bit small but the shower itself was powerful so that was ok. Bed was firm but comfortable. Furniture was cheap but we didn't need to use it and there were plenty of mirrors for getting glammed up for the wedding. Paid the extra fiver for breakfast which was ok. Cereal etc and a cooked breakfast. No choice about the cooked part but it was standard. I think I would sum the place up as slightly better than basic which was all we were expecting and we'dbe happy to return for a longer visit to the city.

My daughter (17)and I stayed one night. There was a friendly welcome, and I was able to park. The room and ensuite were clean and the beds comfortable. We paid £5 each for breakfast which included what you'd expect- cereals, full English cooked to order, toast etc.Only annoying thing was the road outside which has a broken drain which made a huge clonking noise whenever a car went over it! Hopefully the council will repair it soon!Close to station, and on a bus route into Cambridge

Comfortable room . Bathroom very clean and shower worked very well .Breakfast was adequate for the £5.00 fee .Only reservation at staying here again would be the parking as it is misleading . You can request a parking space but its a first come first served basis . You can park in front of the property . Possibly room for about six cars but that's blocking each other in . Very difficult to park in side streets as permit holders only .

Very welcoming, the room was comfortable and the bathroom very clean. The decor is old fashioned in the bedroom we had it could be refreshed and would feel so much better for very little cost. The breakfast we had was cooked very well and all in all we enjoyed our stay. There is a court yard which would have been lovely but we had torrential rain !

My booking was for 2 rooms, a double for myself and a family room with a double and 2 singles. My booking was changed so I had to share a room with grandchildren. This was very uncomfortable as I'd just had my foot operation and didn't have the space I'd requested. The rooms were pleasant enough but it was a great disappointment that cooked breakfasts were unavailable that week.

Stayed at the guest house for 6 nights, it was great except the last two nights, it was horrible. Some guests were really unconsiderated and being noisy hours after midnight. I was being woken up and not able to sleep well. I was able to have a late check in as my flight was delayed appology to the lady who let me in and late check out as my train was at noon. It was a cold and windy day. Thanks to the host. One thing may need to mention was the heating. It wasn't working well and can be quite cold specially when I came out from the shower. The guest house is convenience specially travelled via train and into town. The wifi works well too.

Great Location - costly - Rating 3/5

As described it is on a busy main road close to a budget hotel chain. I stayed in asmall en suite first floor roomwith basic facilities -TV WC shower and 24 hour free internet with good heating facility. Also you can book and paylater. You can also keep your luggage for early arrival or late departure, So compared to that budget hotel it has some comparative advantages. My only concern was the cost - with breakfast a single room should cost 50 GBP -here it is 65 GBP. So out of my one month visit to Cambridge I spent 9 nights.

Very rare to do a review. Real issues with car parking, as not sufficient. You have had to block people in or kindly use neighbours spaces, even then if hotel full there would not be enough spaces. The room (6) had windows that overlooked smoking area outside, so you had to keep them shut or you would suffer from cig smoke and chatter, literally 3 feet away! The room was very dated, needs an urgent redecoration programme, radiators are feltthy and skirting board hanging off. The bed was lumpy, but cleanHowever the breakfast which one paid extra for (surely B and B includes breakfast), was excellent.

Stayed here when visiting Cambridge to be around for relative's stay in hospital. The rooms were fine and the breakfast very good. The proprietors were helpful and flexible, not charging us for the full time we had booked when we had to leave earlier than planned.

Very friendly and helpful B&B.Little problem with door lock very quickly sorted out.Let me leave case and car before official check-in time.Good location near station and bus to city centre right outside.Surprisingly quiet at night.

Review - Rating 3/5

We enjoyed our stay, the host and hostess were most gracious and the breakfasts were very good. Our only real negative was the bathrooms, but that what comes with an older superstructure. The water flow was very erratic in the shower.Otherwise the location was handy for using the buses and for out front parking.

Ideal - Rating 5/5

Stayed in a triple room whilst visiting Cambridge for a wedding. The room was clean and spacious enough to easily accommodate all three of us - very good for the price. Service was friendly, with us being able to arrange to arrive earlier to get wedding-ready which was much appreciated! Conveniently located, close enough to the centre that we could walk into town the next day. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely! - Rating 4/5

Room was basic but clean (we were given a family room - so was lovely and spacious for the two of us). En suite was small. Breakfast was small, but delicious (esp the bacon!). Staff were very friendly, and accomodating (we were able to park way past our check out time, and as room was available at noon, we could check in then despite the 4pm check-in time). Overall a lovely place to stay!

pleasant stay as always - Rating 5/5

We have stayed at Bridge Guest House three times previously and have always found the owners and staff service-minded,kind and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast excellent. This was our first stay with a small child and we felt very welcome. The location is convenient both for walking and buses (the bus for the Duxford Imperial War Museum has a stop right outside the door of the guest house!) We will continue staying at the Bridge Guest House when we are visiting Cambridge.

While being in Cambridge for two weeks in August I stayed at Bridge Guest House, and my impression of it is wonderful. There I had an opportunity to be met by a very friendly staff.I was accommodated in a clean and nice room, which was cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was cooked professionally every morning. It was quiet and peaceful in Bridge Guest House and I had the chance to relax and enjoy my stay. That is why I highly recommend Bridge Guest House to everyone interested. Good value for a short trip - Rating 4/5

Close to the train station (10min walk), makes it very convenient for a quick trip to Cambridge. The single room was a good size, and the room and ensuite bathroom were clean.A bit noisy since the hotel is on a main road, but otherwise comfortable.Hot and cold breakfasts available, and quick and efficient service means I would recommend staying here.

Bridge Guest House is a nice B&B with a simple breakfast and decent rooms. The showers need some improvement (not enough pressure, sometimes no hot water) but overall is allright. We visited this B&B for the 5th time (we keep coming back)
